The event was attended by Zhiqiang Li, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange of Sichuan University; Xiaomin Yang, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office; Xuehong Tang, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training; Yuhui Zhao, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Electrical Engineering at Sichuan University; Xianyong Xiao, Dean of the College; Xinyu Tan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; Changsong Li and Shi Chen, Vice Deans of the College; as well as professional-course teachers, German-language teachers, the project management team, graduates of the 2026 Sino-German Class, and representatives of their parents. The ceremony was hosted by Zhenghe Li, a student of the Sino-German Class.

At the beginning of the event, Zhiqiang Li delivered a speech on behalf of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange. He noted that Sino-German cooperative education serves as an important platform for Sichuan University’s international talent development. Through the educational model of dual campuses, joint teaching teams and integrated curricula, students have not only built a solid foundation in electrical engineering and strengthened their sense of responsibility toward their country, but have also developed cross-cultural communication skills and broadened their global perspectives.

He encouraged the graduates to remain true to their original aspirations and rooted in their homeland, becoming sincere and determined dream pursuers; to embrace the wider world and connect China with the international community, serving as ambassadors of mutual learning among civilizations; and to keep striving with perseverance and optimism, becoming lifelong learners and dedicated achievers.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Zhengmeng Hou, Head of the Sino-German Program at TU Clausthal, extended his warm congratulations to the graduates via video message. As a long-standing promoter of educational, academic and cultural exchange between China and Germany, Prof. Hou expressed his sincere appreciation for the growth and achievements of the students throughout their four-year journey. He noted that the Sino-German Program not only connects two universities, but also brings together two academic cultures, two educational traditions and a shared commitment to cultivating internationally minded engineering talents.

Against the backdrop of the global energy transition, Prof. Hou encouraged the graduates to shoulder the mission of the new era by contributing to green, low-carbon and intelligent development. He expressed his hope that they would continue to uphold the spirit of truth-seeking, remain curious and innovative, and apply their professional knowledge to real-world challenges in the fields of energy, electrical engineering and sustainable development. In his capacity as President of the Chinese Alumni Association of TU Clausthal, he also warmly invited the graduates to join the alumni community, stay connected with both universities, and continue to serve as bridges of friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding between China and Germany.

Dean Xianyong Xiao offered his message to the graduates with three key words: gratitude, truth-seeking and progress. He encouraged the students to remain grateful to their teachers, families and classmates for their support and companionship; to carry forward the College’s tradition of pursuing genuine knowledge and practical competence; and to preserve the enterprising spirit they had demonstrated over the past four years in facing challenges with courage and determination. He expressed his hope that they would grow into electrical engineering professionals with an international outlook and a strong sense of social responsibility.

Yuhan Yuan, representing the 2026 Sino-German Class, delivered a speech on behalf of the graduates. Looking back on the journey of in-depth professional study in China and valuable overseas experience abroad, he expressed heartfelt gratitude to the university and the teachers for their dedicated guidance and support. He encouraged his fellow graduates to take their original aspirations as the helm and their passion as the sail, moving forward with confidence and dedication toward a new chapter in life.

During the ceremony, Yuhui Zhao, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Electrical Engineering at Sichuan University, announced the list of alumni liaison representatives for the 2026 Sino-German Class and presented them with letters of appointment.

The celebration was further enriched by musical performances from students of the Sino-German Class. Sixiao Yu, Haoyun Li and Sicheng Qiu performed songs in turn, using their youthful voices to recall four years of shared memories and friendship. The warm atmosphere was met with continuous applause from the audience.

In the ceremonial session, the guests presented the graduates with specially prepared graduation souvenirs and flowers, followed by a group photo.
